Sustainability is a growing concern, not just in property development but across all industries, with timber buildings offering a fantastic solution, providing it is sourced responsibility.
Q β MARK CERTIFIED | ON-SITE TIMBER GRADERS | 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE | BESPOKE BUILDINGS
English Heritage Buildings is ready to meet this need, with all of our timber sourced from a responsibly managed site in France, and our work conducted to maximise use and minimise waste. When you want to design and build an eco-friendly or energy-efficient feature for your property, our wooden garden rooms are the ideal solution.
Our commitment to sustainability begins with responsible timber sourcing. All the wood used in our timber garden buildings is meticulously sourced from one professionally managed forest in France. We have worked closely with this site for many years to produce the green oak and Douglas-fir timber that goes into our products, and they understand what it takes to ensure that the processβ impact on the environment is minimalised.
When a tree from this forest is cut down for use in our work, three new saplings will be planted in its place. This not only keeps the work sustainable but also ensures that we are able to offer our customers a steady supply of the frames they need for their projects.

Providing it is responsibly sourced, as our options are, timber is a truly sustainable choice for all manner of building projects. Timber can be grown and regrown, meaning that providing it is cultivated properly it will never run out. Trees also pull carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and when a tree is harvested that carbon is stored within it, further benefitting the environment. When your building is no longer needed, the timber can be reused for other purposes or used to create energy.
Weβve carefully designed every step in our process, from forest to factory, to ensure resource use is maximised and waste is minimised. This begins with ensuring all trees used in our work have been cultivated to be as tall, strong, and straight as they can be. This ensures that every piece of wood is utilised to its full potential, aligning perfectly with our sustainable building philosophy.
This resource-efficient approach is our contribution to a more environmentally responsible building process, which you can continue and elaborate on as soon as the frames have been supplied to your property.

All of our wooden garden rooms are designed and created bespoke to the needs and specifications of the purchaser. On top of this, our work ends with the delivery of the frames and materials needed to build the structure that will eventually become your full garden room. As such, once you have installed these for your new building or extension, you will then have full freedom and every opportunity to add various energy-efficient features.
Our garden rooms already come fully insulated as standard, but whether you want to include modern lighting solutions or a sustainable heating and cooling system, youβll not only be reducing your environmental footprint but also generating substantial long-term energy savings.
We encourage property developers to embrace sustainability as a fundamental aspect of their projects. When you choose English Heritage Buildings, you’re not just making a practical choice; you’re making a sustainable one. Our commitment to eco-friendly practices doesn’t come at the cost of quality or aesthetics. You can have both a beautifully crafted garden room and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a sustainable choice for your property development projects.
