So you are thinking of installing a brand new garden room bar โ have you got designs made up already? If not, request a bespoke quote and we can help you to visualise your garden room bar before you settle on the final look. Or feel free to browse our pre-made building designs here.
Once the frame is designed, there is really no limit to how you can fill it. Do you prefer a pub or bar? Which drinks will you load the bar up with? Your garden room bar is yours to do with what you will, but we have listed three ideas below to get your creative juices flowing.
If you are having any trouble putting together a plan, give us a call and request a design consultation with our team.

One of the best things about our garden room bars is that, in most cases, they do not require any planning permission or building regulations. Garden rooms are generally classed as outbuildings, so one can be built as long as you follow certain rules.
As long as your garden room bar complies with the rules above, there should be no need for it to have planning permission beforehand. If you are unsure of where your garden room bar complies, and whether or not you will need planning permission before we can go ahead with your project, check out our essential guide for planning permission.
The Pub Garden โ set aside the garden shed and set up your very own local, right outside your back door. With a dark-wood finish, some ornate wall lamps and a trusty pool table, you can bring the pub garden to you. Open the doors wide and crack open a cold one in the summer, or bring in your roast dinner and light your wine bottle candles on a chilly winterโs night.
The Cocktail Bar โ if the pub is not your scene, maybe you prefer an outdoor space that is more bespoke and stylish. A place to impress your friends and get the party going in the evening. Your very own cocktail bar might be the perfect way to deck out your garden room.
The Bistro โ Keep it modern with some neon wall hangings, or drape some fairy lights for some added sparkle. Then source some ornate gold frames and velvet furnishings to give the space some added class. Last but not least, make sure your bar is stocked full of spirits and tasty mixers, dried fruits, fresh mint, and cocktail shakers.
The Poolhouse โ with a pool already taking pride of place in your garden, you may have limited space for a pub or bar, but our garden rooms can be designed to fit most garden spaces, with or without a swimming pool. So why not try the poolhouse approach to designing the interiors of your garden room bar? Our Dallington range features windows that fully surround your garden room, giving it an open, conservatory feel, which is perfect for a poolside getaway. You could also set up some small tables and convert your poolhouse bar into a games room.

When you buy a garden room bar from English Heritage Buildings Ltd., you are investing in the best quality and the most secure end product. We are Q-Mark certified by BM TRADA, which means the wider industry recognises us as leaders in the market for our services and construction.
All of our garden room bars come with a range of insulation options to keep your space habitable all year round. We offer quilt insulation, which provides adequate insulation for small spaces, and can be fitted between the rafters of your garden room bar. Another option, to reduce the shrinkage of your oak frame, is Structural Insulated Panels (or, SIPs) โ these are normally installed outside of your garden room bar.
For more information on our insulation options and who to contact, read our in-depth guide.
The main structure of our garden room bars are built using the best quality green oak. This is because of how sturdy it is against wear and tear, and how, as it ages, it only gets stronger. This is thanks to oakโs closed grain. Rot and decay are also prevented with the help of the woodโs naturally occurring tannins.
Our frames also have a positive impact on the environment. Oak is already the ideal building material when it comes to sustainability, but we make sure that all of our timber is sourced from managed woodlands โ which means a minimum of two trees are planted every time one is felled.
